Broadband Capacity

Promigas Telecomunicaciones S. A. has the infrastructure and equipment to offer manageable metropolitan broadband capacity for voice, data and video transport.

We provide point-point and point-multipoint connections that enable you or your company to connect in real time.

For your convenience and that of your customers, we supply data transport service with Clear Channel, Frame Relay, Ethernet and ATM protocols. Moreover, we can deliver your service with V.24, V.35, Ethernet (10/100/1000 and GEth), G.703, E3, STM-1, STM-4 and STM-16 interfaces.

We offer transmission speeds from 64 Kbps to 2.5 Gbps, and our service is provided entirely on end-to-end optical fiber. We have the flexibility to migrate quickly to higher speeds, even temporarily for days or hours. Our service is 100% end-to-end optical fiber, with the necessary flexibility to change protocols and to modify speeds.

Most of these advantages are possible because we operate, maintain and market a multi-service network that is manageable at every level. It has the high reliability and quality ratios required by the most demanding national and international standards.

Given the large capacity required by the latest generation mobile platforms, we deliver back haul service via optical fiber to wireless operators for their POPs and E1 voice radio-based connections. These services are offered with high-availability ringed access.

Types of Access

Linear Access:
Linear access is used to interconnect end customers with the Promigas Telecomunicaciones’ network. The customer’s office is linked to one of our nodes through a stretch of optical fiber (linear connection). The customer is then directed to the operator’s point of presence (POP), using the different service platforms. The minimum availability for this type of service is 99.6%.

Ring Access:
Ring access involves serving the customer’s point of presence through two sections of optical fiber with independent routes to Promigas Telecomunicaciones’ network, forming a ring topology. It is used to interconnect the end customer or the telecommunications operator’s POP with our network and to provide backhaul services to mobile telephone and WiMax companies. The customer always has a redundant optical fiber connection to the Promigas Telecomunicaciones network. Guaranteed availability for this service is 99.98%.
